“I’ve never been one to just sit around and do nothing. I like to push myself,” explained Dietz to Fox News. And he faced a field that was not giving him any help. “I got punched in the nose by a swimmer out there. He was – not on purpose – just swimming by me, didn’t see me and just stroked right into my face.”
Dietz will be one of the speakers at the 2012 Global Open Water Swimming Conference in Long Beach, California where he will engage and enthrall the audience like few others can. “Find another way to challenge yourself. There’s different strokes for different folks, but find some way to get out there and challenge yourself.”
After his talk at the Conference on September 22nd on the Queen Mary, he will jump in the waters of the Pacific on September 23rd and compete in the new Swim Across America Long Beach event.
