FINA formally announced the 25 female finalists who will compete in the Olympic Marathon Swimming 10km race at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

To the delight of Mexican fans and her coach Luis Miguel Chávez, Lizeth Rueda Santos replaced Cara Baker of New Zealand to fill out the final 25. Swimming New Zealand declined the invitation initially offered to Baker because she did not finish in the top 9 at the Qualifier, so this opened a spot for Lizeth.
