Ethan Saulnier of Somerville, Massachusetts established a new record for the 10-mile course in the Kingdom Swim in Lake Memphremagog on the Vermont (American) side.

He beat Rondi Davies’ existing record time by about 4 minutes that she set in 2010.

The event will serve as the site of the 2013 9+ Mile U.S. Masters Swimming National Championship.

It includes a 100 yard, 1/4-mile, 1-mile, 3-mile and 6-mile races in addition to the 10-mile course in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
