3-time winner of the King of the Sea competition Trent Grimsey of Australia was the subject of numerous television cameras in Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach.
As he dominated the marathon swims and short coastal swims in 2012, his prospects for success in 2013 look very good with the 2013 World Swimming Championships in Barcelona, Spain.
It will be quite interesting to see Grimsey if he can qualify for Australia’s national open water swimming team and then compete in all 4 races at the world championships: 5 km, 5 km team pursuit, 10 km and 25 km. He would be a good bet to medal in all four races, a feat that has never been attempted before.
