Sherpas are highly regarded as elite mountaineers and local experts who serve as guides at the extreme altitudes of the peaks and passes in the Himalayas, especially expeditions to climb Mount Everest.

Sherpas are renowned in the international climbing and mountaineering community for their hardiness, expertise, and experience at very high altitudes.

Similarly, there are innumerable safety-oriented volunteers and local experts who help guide, support and occasionally rescue open water swimmer around the world.

Fernando Castillo is one of those dedicated kayakers, an expert in the open water, who works on the Neda el Món team in Spain.
