The Japanese are coming up with all kinds of cool and interesting things in the open water swimming world from doing Pool Open Water races in resort hotel pools to building a 1000m outdoor pool.

Its triathletes will be conducting their swim leg in the Osaka Triathlon in the castle moat of the Osaka Castle Park on June 25th.

The swim course will be held in a 750m lap course around the castle. The Osaka Mayor Yoshimura announced, “The organizers and city satisfied all four water quality standards set by Japan’s Ministry of the Environment such as transparency and oxygen concentration.”
