Eric Hedlin is getting ready for the outdoor open water swimming summer season…by swimming fast indoors in the pool. Last night, Hedlin set a University of Victoria and Pacific Coast Swimming record in the 400m freestyle in 3:45.07.

Canadian pool and open water swimming coach Mohamed Marouf commented, “[That is] open water in the base of monster pool swimmer.”

Hedlin recently won the 2017 Australian Open Water Swimming Championships 10 km swim and is getting ready for the summer.

Hedlin initially emerged on the world stage with a silver medal in the 5 km race at the 2013 FINA World Championships in Barcelona, Spain.
