It took 14 years for Damián Blaum to win the 57 km Maratón Acuática Internacional Santa Fe – Coronda in his native Argentina.

But the 35-year-old eventually scored his first career victory in the opening stage on the 2017 FINA Open Water Swimming Grand Prix circuit.
