Ram Barkai of the International Ice Swimming Association will recognize and award the world’s top ice swimmers and contributors to the sport of Ice Swimming.

Nominations are welcome by all to the International Ice Swimming Association by December 30th,” he explained. “All awards to be decided by annual vote of the IISA Board. There will be several awards given. In time, the IISA will have an annual awards ceremony with its annual AGM and gathering. If it is a World Championship year, the IISA will combine the awards with the World Championship ceremonies.

Male and Female Ice Swimmer of the Year
Criteria is based on the overall performance in ice swimming including points on the World Cup Series, other Ice Kilometer results, certified Ice Miles and accredited epic ice swims.

Male and Female Ice Adventurer of the Year
Criteria is based on the swimmers with the most interesting or unusual accredited epic ice swims.

Ice Adventure of the Year – Team Category
Criteria is based on the team that consists of two or more swimmers with the most interesting or unusual accredited team event (e.g., a relay, team adventure, team event or a special record).

Ice Contributor of the Year
Criteria is based on individual’s contributions on the development of the sport over the past year.

Ice Sevens Award for the Year
This awards swimmers who complete the Ice Sevens during the year for swims in 5°C or less water that adhere to IISA regulations.

Icy Award of the Year
This category allows IISA to identify a man, woman or a team who performed an epic, unique and inspiring swim outside IISA 5°C water temperature limit, but yet, was extremely epic in water temperatures of up to 11°C using IISA swim attire while following IISA swim rules.
