There are 150 days until to the 18th FINA World Championships 2019 in Gwangju, Korea opens and 10 male swimmers and 10 female swimmers will qualify for the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games that will be held in Odaiba Marine Park in Tokyo Bay.

Since 1991, Russia has won 12 gold medals, Germany has won 11 gold medals and the USA has won 10 gold medals at the FINA World Championships over the 25 km distance (held since 1991), the 5 km distance (held since 1998), the 10 km distance (held since 2001), and the 5 km team relay (held since 2011). But Team Netherlands with Ferry Weertman and Sharon van Rouwendaal and Team France with Aurélie Muller and Marc-Antoine Olivier as well as stars from Italy and Brazil will undoubtedly swim to podium positions.

The registration to the 2019 FINA World Masters Championships, also held in Gwangju from August 5th – 18th is here. The 1.5 km loop course will be held in the Yeosu EXPO Ocean Park in a course similar to the FINA World Championships in July.

Masters swimmers will compete in 3 km races in the 25+, 30+, 35+, 40+, 45+, 50+, 55+, 60+, 65+, 70+, 75+, 80 and over age divisions.
