8 To Complete 7: Adrian Sarchet Completes The Oceans Seven

He used his last Oceans Seven swim to raise funds to improve accessibility at the pool at Beau Sejour in Guernsey.
Adrian Sarchet’s Oceans Seven Journey:
1. August 2012: he crossed the 33.8 km English Channel from England to France in 14 hours 2 minutes at the age of 37
2. August 2013: he crossed the 32.3 km Catalina Channel from Catalina Island to the California mainland in 12 hours 26 minutes at the age of 38
3. September 2014: he crossed the 14.4 km Strait of Gibraltar from Spain to Morocco in 4 hours 1 minutes at the age of 39
4. August 2015: he crossed the 35 km North Channel from Northern Ireland to Scotland in 14 hours 13 minutes at the age of 40
#5. July 2016: he crossed the 42 km Molokai Channel from Molokai to Oahu in 17 hours 24 minutes at the age of 41
#6. August 2017: he crossed the 19.5 km Tsugaru Channel from Honshu to Hokkaido in 14 hours 2 minutes at the age of 42
#7. February 2020: he crossed the 23 km Cook Strait between North Island and South Island in New Zealand in 10 hours 48 minutes at the age of 44
Sarchet said, “To be completely honest, [achieving the Oceans Seven] really hasn’t sunk in yet. The Oceans Seven has been a constant companion and taskmaster for the last eight years for myself, my family and my crew. I’m sure a sense of accomplishment will follow at some stage … but at the moment all I can report is a small excitement building within me that I now have the time and freedom to select a new challenge – whatever that may be.”
