iSwimToo, an innovative information-sharing service developed under the leadership of active Australian open water aquapreneur Stephen Coulter is among the nominees for the 2012 World Open Water Swimming Offering of the Year. The new award is meant to identify products and services that (1) best support and assist open water swimmers to achieve their goals, (2) are innovative, unique and beneficial to open water swimmers, race directors, coaches or administrators, and (3) have made the most positive impact on the world of open water swimming during the calendar year.
The nominations are meant to recognize some of the best and innovative commercial and free offerings that open water swimmers can enjoy.
Extreme swimmers, disabled swimmers, ice swimmers, marathon swimmers, professional swimmers, administrators, coaches, pilots, and swimmers from all walks of life have used, purchased and benefited from an increasingly number of products and services introduced over the few years.
The nomination of the iSwimToo reads,
“When open water swimmers meet, they talk and compare swimming holes. Did you swim? iSwimtoo is the answer. iSwimtoo, a software innovation from Stephen Coulter and his merry band of open water swimming colleagues of Manly, Australia, offers the ability to share detailed information online on an unprecedented visual scale about swimming locations worldwide. The neatly organized solution is powered by the Google Earth platform and enhanced by text, facts, and links. Initially offered as a stand-alone solution, iSwimtoo is fully integrated into Openwaterpedia and is another solution to connect open water swimmers around the world with the common ties of passion and local knowledge of the open water world. For his vision to connect the millions of open water swimmers in an easy-to-use, easy-to-research online tool, for its explicit ability to make the open water world a smaller, more collaborative and cooperative community, iSwimtoo is a worthy nominee for the 2012 WOWSA Open Water Swimming Offering of the Year.”
