Diligent, passionate, fit.

These are only some of the positive characteristics that can describe many swimmers, especially those who are working adults who consistently train before and after work or during their lunch breaks.

These U.S. Masters Swimming members, including many open water athletes, participate in the Go The Distance program where they voluntarily log their workouts in an online database.

GTD is a self-directed, honor system that encourages adults to track their workouts in the pool and open water throughout the year. Each athlete tracks the distance they swim on their online Fitness Log (FLOG). They can compare their own efforts on a year-to-year basis and compare themselves to everyone else or simply among those of their same age and gender. When certain milestones are achieved, the athlete is recognized on the U.S. Masters Swimming website and will receive special prizes from Nike Swim.
