American Craig Dietz inspired another group of swimmers and spectators in Africa this weekend. He completed the aQuellé Midmar Mile in 37 minutes 10 seconds under bright blue South Africa skies this morning.

Offered his wheelchair at the shoreline, Dietz shook off the offer and charged up the finish line like his able-bodied colleagues in the world’s largest competitive open water swim.
