Market research shows that the red and yellow colors are the most easily recognizable in times of emergency on the beach.

So lifeguards wear red. In an emergency, you want a lifeguard to be visible.

The red and yellow uniforms from Australia to America have been used by a number of International Lifesaving Member Federations for many years. As such, red and yellow has become synonymous with lifesavers and lifeguards in many countries.

The International Life Saving Federation recommends colors for lifeguard uniforms should be red and yellow.

But it is certainly one of the few times that an authority figure in a public environment is outfitted in a bikini or board shorts.
