Shelagh Watson is a pool and loch swimmer from Torrance, Scotland. After she stopping working in 2011, she channeled her energies to swimming. “I started swimming regularly in a local loch and did the Great North Swim in Windermere and the Great Scottish Swim in Loch Lomond in 2013.”
It was always a dream of hers to be an open water swimmer. “A couple of my friends signed up for the Great North Swim. I had always wanted to do open water swimming so I teamed up with them.”
Now she is finding herself swimming about 5 times a week, mostly in the local pool. But her dreams go further.
“I have only done loch swimming [until now], but I would like to swim in the sea.” Here’s to betting that she will soon be sea swimming, smiling all the way to and from the sea.
