Pádraig Mallon received the 2013 World Open Water Swimming Man of the Year award today at the 2014 Global Open Water Swimming Conference on the Isle of Bute, Scotland. One of the very few people in history who did both an ice swim and a full Ironman Triathlon and quick turn-around of both the English Channel and North Channel, Mallon has been inspiring people around him for his entire career as an athlete, event organiser and supporter of athletic goals for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
