Rohans More was willing to give it a go with at least 5 of the 7 channels in the Oceans Seven.
He wanted to try the North Channel and attempt the Tsugaru Channel in addition to his attempts at the English Channel, Catalina Channel and Molokai Channel during the summer of 2014, but he toned down his approach upon consultation with Freda Streeter.
But he still went 3-for-3 with 3 successful crossings this summer.
From his extremely warm-water home base in Dubai, he traveled around the world to cross the English Channel on July 26th in 13 hours 13 minutes. Then followed that up with a Catalina Channel crossing on October 7th in 10 hours 17 minutes and a tough Molokai Channel crossing in 17 hours 28 minutes on October 28th.
“My mother Vijaya is my inspiration, I did it for her,” More recalls after his English Channel swim. “I still remember the days from my childhood when she used to take my practice for Dharamtar to Gateway of India Channel. My goal is to swim many more channels, preferably among the Ocean Seven which considered to be the most difficult open water swim in world. Just did the one six more to go.”
