The Surf Lifesaving Sports Festival is this weekend on September 12th in Beesley’s Point Sea Doo, Beesley’s Point in New Jersey. “It is a surf sports festival for every member of our ocean community,” says event organizer Bruckner Chase.
“The festival is open to anyone age 14 to 104 and from para-athlete to ocean professional. Participants will be seeded in event heats based on experience and ability just as in a pool swim meet. The top finishers in each heat will move on to finals in order to test themselves against other top finishers.”
The events include a 250m ocean swim, 350m paddle, 600m surfski/kayak, swim-paddle solo, swim-paddle relay, and the grueling Ocean Hero Challenge (a solo and relay race that includes a continuous Paddle, Swim, SurfSki, Paddle, Swim, and SurfSki).
