As the Southern Hemisphere heats up, the Northern Hemisphere cools down and Phil White and crew start to gear up.
“Online registration is now open for the Second Annual Memphremagog Winter Swim Festival on March 5th and 6th 2016. Our winter swim festival is the ultimate fist in the face of winter.
The swim is organized by the Memphremagog Winter Swimming Society operating under the umbrella of Kingdom Games. We are offering 25m, 50m, 100m, and 200m swims in a two-lane, 25-meter pool, cut in the ice on Lake Memphremagog right by the Eastside Restaurant in Newport, Vermont. Water temperatures at last year’s swim were 30ºF (-1.1ºC) and air temperatures were in the teens. 41 swimmers participated. The organizing Committee consists of Charlotte Brynn, Janet Manning, Greg O’Connor, Elaine Kornbau Howley, Sarah Watson, Amanda Hunt, Rena Demeo, Helen Lin, and Phil White.”
