The proceeds from the 8.2-mile (13.2 km) Swim 4 Freedom on Geneva Lake in Wisconsin go to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation who do an amazing job providing full college educations to surviving children of Special Operations personnel killed in combat and also provide immediate financial assistance to Special Operations personnel severely wounded in combat. Please join me in supporting these talented and dedicated individuals who sometimes risk everything to keep our country safe,” explains race director Steele Whowell.

Over the 8 years that we have been doing this event, this year was by far the best weather we’ve ever had. Temperatures were hot and winds were down. The average finishing time was much faster than in the past. A special thanks to Chief Master Sergeant Will Markham and Colonel Craig Brotchie for joining us this year. These gentlemen sacrifice, sometimes everything, to keep our country safe and we do this event for them, for their brothers and for their families.”

Over US$35,000 was raised and donations are still coming in.
