18 days after completing her English Channel crossing, Caroline Block from the U.S.A. completed a successful 21-mile crossing the North Channel, starting in Northern Ireland and making landfall in Scotland to a sky full of stars in the early hours of the morning of August 2nd,” reported Pádraig Mallon of Infinity Channel Swimming and Piloting Services.

This makes Caroline the second lady in history to complete such a duo [channel swim] within the same season following on from Alison Streeter.”

The 32-year-old anthropologist from Baltimore, Maryland completed the crossing in 14 hours 31 minutes.
