Beth French set out to do what may have been logistically impossible,” commented Steven Munatones.

Planning and completing the Oceans Seven – crossing the English Channel between England and France, North Channel between Northern Ireland and Scotland, Strait of Gibraltar between Spain and Morocco, Catalina Channel between Santa Catalina Island and Southern California mainland, Molokai Channel between Molokai and Oahu in Hawaii, Tsugaru Channel between Hokkaido and Honshu in Japan, and Cook Strait between North Island and South Island in New Zealand – in one calendar year is bordering on the impossible, although swimmers like Beth are capable of doing it physiologically. The documentary highlights the difficulties and obstacles that stood in the way of achieving her dream: the five years of preparation, the finances required, and the organization of escort pilots, crews, sponsors and dryland supporters while she continued to support her autistic son and face her own lifelong battle with M.E. (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome).
