Courtesy of WOWSA, Midmar Dam, Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.

The 16 Milers of the aQuellé Midmar Mile each raise 20,000 South African rand for charity. Their goal was to swim 8 miles on each day of the 2-day open water swimming festival in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.

The 16 Milers start with each of the 8 heats of the point-to-point aQuellé Midmar Mile – but they also swim back to the start after finishing each mile.
