Hall Of Famer Peter Jurzynski Talks About His Career On WOWSA Live

69-year-old Peter Jurzynski is a passionate and focused open water swimmer. Originally from the state of Connecticut, he developed his potential while training in Boston and England as well as taking part in many New England Marathon Swimming Association event.

The International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame Honor Swimmer explained, “I tried to swim from [the Massachusett state holiday of] Patriots’ Day on the 3rd Monday of April to Halloween at the end of October.”

His focus was never in doubt: 2 of my 20 English Channel attempts were done after his heart bypass surgery.

Jurzynski talked on a wide variety of his experiences and topics, especially focusing on his 14 successful crossings and 20 attempts of the English Channel, with International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame chairman Ned Denison on the May 13th edition of WOWSA Live [posted above] including:

* doing the Boston Light Swim in 1980
* training at the L Street Bathhouse in the the Boston Harbor where “8 fences are a mile
