Petar Stoychev, Yasunari Hirai To Race The Authentic Marathon Swim

Sponsored by KAATSU Global, Huntington Beach, California.

Swimmers like Petar Stoychev and Yasunari Hirai have been globetrotters throughout their careers.

In the case of Stoychev, he has raced on every continent in the world including Antarctica. Between Hirai and Stoychev, they have collectively been to 6 Summer Olympics: Sydney, Athens, Beijing, London, and Rio.

So the COVID-19 pandemic has really impacted their travel and competition schedule. But now they are back picking up air miles.

They will both compete, along with 2008 Olympian Marianna Lymperta in The Authentic Marathon Swim in September 2020, at Pefki, Evia, of the Municipality of Istiaia – Edipsos, Greece.

The event includes 1.5 km and 3 km open water swims on September 5th and a 800m and 10 km marathon swim on September 6th.

Registration is available here. For more information on the Global Swim Series event, visit
