Remembering The Competitive Races Of The King and Queen of the Sea
Sponsored by KAATSU Global, Huntington Beach, California.
With the COVID-19 pandemic hitting Brazil hard, we remember the great races we witnessed for several years at the King and Queen of the Sea (Rei e Rainha do Mar) event on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Prior to the main relay race that was televised live on TV Globo, the international teams were seeded by their placings in the Grid Race.
Lorscheitter, Cunha, Sarah Bosslet of Germany, Alice Franco of Italy, and Peacock are shown at the end of their leg at the Grid Race before the King and Queen of the Sea race handing off to their male teammates who included Samuel de Bona of Brazil, Allan do Carmo of Brazil, Thomas Lurz of Germany, Valerio Cleri of Italy, and Chip Peterson of the USA:
