Recognition from one’s peers is always appreciated by luminaries in any field.

On today’s WOWSA Live episode, Ned Denison interviewed Chris Guesdon talked about the marathon swimming and the Australian Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame.

Guesdon kicked off the Australian Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame his year and explained the following:

* how he transitioned himself from a lifesaver and water polo player to a marathon swimmer and administrator
* how he strategized and formulated the format and raison d’être for the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim
* helped create and determine the first class of honourees, including 17 International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame inductees
* how the first class of honourees reflected fast swimmers by including athletes who won medals at the FINA World Swimming Championships
* how the first class of honourees were inclusive of those athletes with extraordinary endurance talents by including swimmers who did long swims (e.g., Oceans Seven)
