Team Rivard Talks About Their Swimming Adventures On WOWSA Live

Kevin (father), Darcie (mother), Vera (older sister), and Margaret (younger sister) Rivard are the First Family of open water swimming in the Northeast of the United States. The family plans, trains, kayaks, travels, and does open water swimming like few other families.

Everyone has a specific role. They talked about their adventures and accomplishments on today’s episode of WOWSA Live.

This year has been another memorable period, especially as they navigated the unexpected pandemic and lockdown – as everyone else has.

The 16-year-old Vera finished 2nd in the 200m freestyle at the 2020 Memphremagog Winter Swim Festival in February, then completed the 45.9 km 20 Bridges Swim around Manhattan Island in 7 hours 57 minutes in July, then completed the 15-mile Circumnavigation Border Bumper Swim on Lake Memphremagog in 8 hours 49 minutes in August with her sister Margaret, and finally a 14 hour 10 minute 33.5 km crossing of the English Channel from England to France in September.
