Swim in the jewel of the Mexican Pacific: warm temperatures in the water and on the beach, crystal clear waters, and a deep blue ocean that will take your breath away. The race started in 2010 and has already grown to over 800 swimmers. We shouldn’t be too surprised though, given the level of interest and participation in open water swimming in all of Mexico. With the spectacular beaches, clear and warm (26C/79F) water, Mexico is a great place for our sport! Puerto Vallarta, and more specifically the Riviera Nayarit, which is located only 20 minutes from the airport, is an incredible place for a classic open water race. This is an event and competition that everyone can enjoy. Friends and family of all ages, from 7 to 70, and all abilities can participate, including physically challenged swimmers. There are swimmers from professional and masters to recreational swimmers. The race consists of a single 1.25k loop, or 3 or 4 loops for the longer distances, and takes place inside the beautiful Bahia de Banderas, in the Marina Riviera Nayarit at la Cruz. So start planning now for a beautiful swimming vacation at another of the spectacular open water races offered in Mexico!
